Meeting Minutes for August 21, 2008
Present at the Meeting:
Bob Griffin, Stiney Vonderhaar, Catherine Hartman, Jim Bothe, Pat Casey, and Jim Owens
Topics Discussed:
· Meeting minutes from July 24 reviewed.
· Fall Volunteer Clean-up Day October 18, 2008, 9am-noon: Catherine volunteered to bring coffee, donuts, and hot chocolate. Jim O volunteered to get pizza for lunch. Bob looking into getting Joe Asbrock to lead a nature walk from 8-9am. Plan to establish work list at next meeting. Two trees to be replaced. Suggested we try to only plant trees in fall and winter in the future to avoid watering difficulty.
· Brian Casey’s Eagle project done except for sign and updated map posting. Discussed adding things to draw animals to viewing area (i.e. salt block)
· Plan to have a larger drain installed on the west end of the creek trail this fall if not during volunteer day.
· New signboard covers have been installed.
· Bo reviewing park improvements with Five Rivers, including flower selections and spray utilization.
· Bob mentioned tree down on east end of pond. Bo to look into removing it.
· Stiney shared preliminary community trail map. Everyone thought it looked great.
· Official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Boy Scout Center scheduled for August 28, 4pm.
Action Items:
· Plan for fall volunteer clean-up day.
· Catherine and Bob to provide history outline for signboard posting.
